AzorGhee was born and grew up on the island of Terceira in the Azores archipelago.

With miles and miles of green (pesticide-free) pastures to roam in, the happy grass-fed Azorean cows are recognized across Portugal for producing some of the highest quality milk and milk-derived products.

The first clarified butter produced in Portugal, AzorGhee is produced completely naturally via a low heat process that typically lasts over many hours or even days. This centuries old artisanal process removes impurities in milk, and also removes lactose, caseine and water. The output of this long slow moving process is a healthy and pure fat with no added preservatives.

This recipe has been used for thousands of years in India, both in diets and in Ayurvedic medicine. As it contains no lactose, it can be used as a butter replacement for those sensitive to dairy.

Featuring a distinct caramelized almond flavor, ghee has a lightly sweet smell and a yellow golden color.

In the kitchen, use AzorGhee to fry, bake, spread, cook, make popcorn, desserts, and even take by the spoonful...you might love it a lot.

Ghee butter is resistant to 250ºC (480ºF) temperatures without burning, avoiding the release of harmful substances. It does not require refrigeration.
